Navigation Bar's Clickable Area, Bigger and Wider

6 comments Buzz Here
If you have noticed that my navigation bar is changed and a little bit wider and bigger, i made the clickable area a little bit bigger because i like the entire navigation space clickable and not just the text of the link.

I learned that this is actually simple to achieve. With the use of simple unstyled navigation and CSS you will have a that good looking navigation bar. Here's how to do it:

Where to Start?
Let's start with simple navigation menu

<ul>
<li><a href="#">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="#">About</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Contact</a></li>
</ul>

Next...lets add the CSS (This is Horizontal) to add style and make it look good.

If you add this CSS the text remains the only clickable area therefore we will just add the display property to the <li> to command the html of how they should behave or displayed in your site.

This are the code we need to add to complete the process.
display: block; --- this is to fill the entire area
padding: 10px 20px; --- This is to determine the size of the clickable area.

We also need to add html <div> tag in our navigation menu to format
just one section and not cover all links.

Add this to your navigation menu
<div id="navlink"> and close </div> below the menu: Here's what it look like now!

<div id="navlink">
<ul>
<li><a href="#">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="#">About</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Contact</a></li>
</ul>
</div>

Now here's the final CSS Code:

#navlink ul {
list-style-type: none;
overflow: auto;
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
}
#navlink ul li {
float: left;
border: 1px solid #333;
border-bottom: none;
margin: 0 5px;
}
#navlink ul li a {
display: block;
padding: 10px 20px;
text-decoration: none;
}
* html ul li a { /* this is to fix IE bug */
width: 1%;
}

#navlink ul li a:hover {
text-decoration: underline;
background: #000;
}

Then save.

I hope you find this easy to follow and learn something new.

Please let me know if you done it!

One that i found in this site which is my 2 years old daughters favorites is
    Monkeys On the Bed
    Action poem
    Five little monkeys jumping
    on the bed
    One fell off and bumped
    his head
    Mama called the doctor and
    the doctor Said,
    " No more monkeys
    jumping on the bed!" Four little monkeys jumping
    on the bed, three little monkeys jumping on the bed, (and so on)
  6. dltk-teach.com - This is where you can find rhymes, crafts, felt poems for your child, you will find a lot of activities you can do with your children.

there so much we can do to spend time with our kids. I always have a great fun with my kids and i can see there development and learning while they are at home with me. I hope you find this helpful and give you a lot of ideas of what activity that will suit with your child.

My money's on the bear

Jeez, i am sure you are wondering what is the title of my post mean, i just joined Plinky -- which "makes it easy for you to create inspired content. Every day they provide a prompt (i.e. a question or challenge) and you answer. it is very simple to add rich media and share to your answers on Facebook, Twitter and blogs"

If you haven't heard Plinky yet then why not pay them a visit and have fun like i do aswell.

Now, this is the first prompts i answered.

The question: Animal face-off! Who would win in a fight between a bear and a shark?
Answer:

Although bear and shark both eat fish, bear can run out of the water where shark can't.

Will Be Back Posting Again Soon...

1 Comment Buzz Here

It's been awhile since i posted here at TBN, that is because i got busy and i am enjoying the summer sun. I started to work on my garden again, replanting and i want to add more color not just green in my garden -- You know during winter i am like a bear, i like to hibernate and very lazy to go out because it's too cold, i think it's alright if it is not windy but here in New Zealand the wind is your worse enemy (mine i supposed, i don't know with some people though).

Anyway, i will be slowly back on posting again and i hope to catch up with other blogger friends site and see what's going on ... i miss that part where i get connected with my readers and also friends i made on the past days online, some left me some message on the entrecard just to say hello and what's up! thank you guys.

That's it for now, i will be back to my garden again but will be posting again soon.
